An even 5.

First few seconds made this sound quite promising, but the simple bass and drums + the odd triangle 'ting' got repetitive real fast. I'm thinking you should have submitted a 30 sec loop instead. Theres nothing wrong with whats hear other then its repetitive, and doesnt vary, nor is it club material.

The names kind of lame, do you need to specify that whomever the subject is, is "Clubbin' all night" ? Like, I assume when people club, its not at 8:00Am.

Low scores cause I feel mislead.

dj-protege responds:

idk man i think u need to listed to hip hop more. its not suppose to be an actual club beat douche, its just suppose to be like a busta rhymes beat or pharrell
beat, But thanks anyways

Sounds good...

"The melody is hardbeat market" as in, someone elses melody? How much of this is yours?

Great electro feel, drums vary a fair bit which keep this moving.

My only recomendation would be layer another synth on it with an alternate melody and make it fuller sounding, whilst nice as it is, it does feel like there is room for something more to give it a "go do something good for the planet" kind of feel.

I like the branch at 3:20, only downside is it goes back into what it was already doing, when it opened up a huge array of possibilities.

4'd, I do like this.

Z-Tone responds:

dude thats a review!
you can acctually google search the original track
and yeah another synth could work but the melody could be a problem because i tried that and i didn't find anything that was subtle enough so it wouldn't throw the whole track...well of track.....think ill work on that
and i was EMPTY when i finished that "branch" as you call it:P
but yeah i didnt steal very much when i took the melody changed it alot but you can hear the similarity
but anyways thanks for a great review mate
and you should check out some of my other stuff
both on this account and the "hotplurplegnome" one

The poor dinosaurs.

Careful with your claims.

This sounds like FL's "Fl Keys" and I've got a whole pack of video game midis I can dump into FL and make sound fancy in a second, so you may get some flak about the authenticity of your work.

I'd highly recommend adding in some dynamics, and working on the piano sound to be more natural, so that if you did do this by ear, it as an overall composition is more professional, cause as of the moment, it sort of just drones.

Grn-Drgn responds:

yeah, it's on fl studio... but i never used any midi to make this one, i sure looked up in a midi file to see if i was on the right keys ONCE I WAS DONE and to be honest with you, the song is completely offkey... the thing is that i know how to play piano, but i don't have any recorder... so i try my best to make things as i play them... of course, fl will never beat the beautiful sound of a grand piano... but hey, nobody's perfect ^^ and thanks for the review, i'll try harder on my next piano composition alright? :P

Im not into this genre

My disposition towards happy-hardcore isn't a friendly one.

That being said, synths / stereo-ized sounds are great, and for a gimmicky genre, its not awful. The melody is uber simple, but that is the nature of this type, if you do edit it, a more moving melody would make it far better in my opinion.

Speaking of gimmicky, take the cheering sample out of the beginning, that alone tempted me to 0 this. Honestly, putting cheering in your own music? That is like making a robot to give you high fives all day until your own wrist is sore, and your self esteem is boosted. The Cool-Aid guy would be disapointed (Oh no!).

But yes, as for overall-ed-ness, this is pretty cool. If you are making it longer, just put in some lone synth with a low-freq filter on it and make it build for 30 seconds, hardcore fans eat that stuff up, and it tacks on a fair bit of length to a song.

DjSc00p responds:

Well for the melody, happy hardcore songs have these simple melodies. For the cheering, it sounded good with the song but your taste may be different. And no, im not desperate for my self esteem to be boosted lol. But i have to say, if you seriously hate this genre and your temped to 0 this for small stuff just because you hate the genre, then please dont vote or review. Just go to another song lol.. Thanks for the review tho.

Dough head

Piano and string instruments are nice, its like a more fast paced Mr.Rogers theme song, with a hip-hop kind of beat.

Which is good.

Get a handle on using some effects to make everything come together better. The main melody synth that comes in and out is a bit honky-midi in general sound, which in my mind is this songs weak point.

Overall song build is quite good, no complaints there, though 5:30 may have been 45 seconds longer then may have been good for this peice, unless you intend on changing around some of the later melody.

Keep this up, its easy listening.

Whitesock responds:

First of all, thanks for the review!

I'll try to touch it up and polish it with effects and such for a final version.

I'll probably change the "saxophone" synth (it doesn't really sound all that much like a sax) to something else with a more professional sound also.

And yes, I plan to work the sequencing around some so it isn't as repetitive or long without the added parts.

Make it louder

I'll quote myself: "Make it louder".

Pretty funny, tunes nice, and good job on not having a fail - improv session.

Is someone playing with bubble rap near the end..?

Mogly responds:

It is to quiet, next time we'll put the computer-microphone closer. But until then people will just have to turn their speakers up and hope somebody doesn't sign on MSN.

No that's not bubble rap.. that's me strumming with menace haha. You hear my friend Nick say 'Stop that' right as I stop.

Lol at 'Stifler' for existing

Technically any notation of day time or cloud cover in a jungle wouldn't be evident due to thick canopy...

Your music covers a span of different feels, its nice hearing an artist who doesn't pump out the same stuff over and over again (who I would argue that those people are not very artistic).

It would be nice to hear this build a bit more then what it does.

Instrumental sounds are all great, no flaws screaming to be changed. This isn't really my kind of idea as far as listening to goes, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the subtleties that make this a class-A ambient piece.

SolusLunes responds:

I have just one thing to say to you: >:(

Nah, I kid, I kid. :D

Would be better if it was 6 seconds.

You did capture an asian-ethnic feel in a breif clip, very nice, hope the long one maintains the feel throughout.

Gave it 9/10.

I save the 10/10s for the ever greater 6 second clips.

SolusLunes responds:

>:(

CURSE YOU AND YOUR SIX-SECOND ISM

Love IDM.

Sick loop, so long as you and I are hearing the same piece, we should both know its quite dandy.

I'd like to hear the full song when its complete.

Have you added in the stutter effects and whatnot by editing the exported Mp3, or did you do them within the program(s?) that you used?
Don't be brief, I do want to know!

Reticence responds:

Everything was done within FL Studio. ^^

Atmospheric Indeed

You've got a great mind set for melody's and progression.

I think a bit of technical know-how with effects would bolster this song into something far greater.

The very first note, higher pitched synth could be changed, its got a bit of a warble-annoying sound to it which I think distracts from the rest of the song.

PIED3 responds:

Thanks for the review, i know very little of effects and mastering etc. and i only use garage band and i a midi keyboard, but ill try to improve on that, thanks!
