Awesome work on this mate. Hours of game play available here with an intelligent difficulty curve pushing the players timing and sensitivity abilities.

Confusing

I don't understand, maybe I'm not smart, but frankly I make masterpieces with ejay and I don't have fame. What am I doing wrong?

WAT

My review, your game.

Some glaring issues

Black dots hurt if paddle touche, your description says not to let them off the screen, but touching them does nothing other then make a negative noise. I'm not sure whats happening other then something isn't working the way you intended.

Paddle doesn't show (flash/java are updated, on windows xp using mozilla)

Pause screen shows way down right and not centered.

Game could use something to make it more interesting like color changing particles/squares, stages in which things go faster, perhaps changing musical keys.

Otherwise things run smoothly and appear to work, the lack of glam on this concept though really doesn't make its playability go far.

My review, your game.

Please change the music, anyone who's touched FL, or listened to amateur music is haunted by the presets used in the song. I hit the wall so I could stop hearing the music. It sounds as if written by someone writing with no music theory, just trial and error.

Game progression is slow, could be sped up.

Due to the nature of the inner and outer walls being mimics of one another, all you need to do is focus on sticking close to the inner without hitting, and the outer wall is of no concern in terms of dodging. If perhaps the outer was displaced in its phase compared to the inner wall, it would have more of an impact on game play.

Visually I found the game very enjoyable. It could have more frills to add to the psychedelic nature, but its certainly a strength in its current state.

Concept is a nice twist on the old helicopter game.

If perhaps the walls were further apart, and both randomized to an extent (with some constraits to avoid impassable points), and the addition of a key to lower the object, you'd have a 2 button game where you would have more control over your action. I think it would make things much more interesting, and more engaging for the player.

decogames responds:

Thanks for the detailed review! Regarding the slow progression, did you try hard mode?

Your game, my review.

Overall colors/themes and whatnot is highly cohesive. Makes the game appear quite nice.

Noticed a bug while in the clicking phases of each level, after you've clicked however many times in the dark and the lights turn on, you can continue to click wildly, or over and over on an item to raise your score. I'd suggest limiting the numbers of clicks allowed in the lights off phase of each level.

A sound effect tied to the level changes and clicks would also make the game far far more interesting. A simple 'tick' sound for clicking in the dark, and perhaps a different sound if you click and 'hit' your target.

This in mind, the objects click radius could be increased a little bit, a lot of times I missedsed the items by a very very small margin of error.

Overall not bad, generally works, looks good. Certainly no masterpiece but not worthless either.

Please you used my song. :)

selfdefiant responds:

Thanks, and thanks for the song!

Your game, My review

Voice acting was quite funny, credits were bomb.

Hope your projects continue in this direction - more cleaned up and professional while maintaining humor.

TheCriminalDuder responds:

Your music made a good chunk of the spirit of this game so don't forget to give yourself credit.
Thanks a lot for the encouragement. I'll take it to heart. I will continue to pump out Duder content at increasing quality.

It is a beta.

Most of this I am sure you are aware of since I played the game for 4 minutes where as you've probably spent hours coding and making graphics. Eithe way, here is what I see as a to do list.

Add sound.

Add music (I'd suggest some sort of minimal stuff and focus on SFX).

Lessen the bullets ray of spray.

A few more meteors, or more resistant meteors. Or just proper enemys.

More funny stuff like space rats.

Make the upgrades have some pretty graphis isntead of circles with letters on the inside.

Include in the interface the level of weapon or upgrades taken in.

Make the background move faster so the illusion of fast movement is more evident.

Some voice acting for the little dialogue bits would really make this cool.

I think this games got a lot of potential, and the feeling I got from seeing it, is that it appears to be serious, but is going to be far from it if you look at the details, which I think could make this a lot of fun.

Yo tickles berry

Reminds me of my grandma, thats how epicly action packed this is.

I was getting crunk to the music, the game was funk spice-ster homo-erotic action that was so deep the titanic was impressed.

The only thing that would make this better is if the stuff your dodging weren't just circles and bars, but something themed, or textured atleast.

And... dawg yo Jindo be pimpin aight aight 13370r for tat0rs.

... Lol internet.

Go go music creation promotion.

Great idea to promote what is probably the most common music creation software. Whilst your flash skill aren't ridiculous off the charts, the information provided is useful to the new comer. The use of voice is great along with the visuals directly from the program, it helps clarify whats what. I suggest having replay buttons and buttons along the way to step back and forth through your tutorial so people can re-listen and watch certain parts (probably not for step sequencing since its super duper simple, but stuff in the future to come).

When you have a few more made, put links at the end of the flash to your other Ng pages with tuts on them for someone whos using these to learn to navigate quickly.

Overall, good stuff, this made me happy to see. Are the music clips used in this creations of yours?

Ehhh...

Not to be a complete jackass or anything, but is playing a game that effectively emulates minimum wage fast food jobs really a *Winning* game idea?

I got tired after the third smoothie or so, this concept is just.. awful.

However, the music is nice, and the graphics are good, and the few effects that are there add nicely to the visual output of this game.

No lag issues for me either which is nice.

Maybe if this was like make food for Jabba the hut, or be eaten yourself, it would have been more fun, and there could be audio featuring him making funny sounds making it vaguely more interesting.
